Etosha National Park is an unforgettable destination that offers game-viewing of the “Big 5” within the stark and arid beauty of the biggest desert salt-pan in Africa.
Etosha literally means “great white area” and is a result of the many dried salt pans which are so large they can be seen on satellite imaging. During the rainy season the pans fill with water and attract thousands of flamingos in addition to the Park’s usual inhabitants, namely lion, elephant, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, hyena, springbok, two kinds of zebra, eland and much more!
The wildlife is easily spotted in this sparse desert landscape and offers some incredible photographic opportunities thanks to the floodlit waterholes at each of the main camps.
